The original RedLegends archive describes Tars Tarkas as a 140 lb Dogue de Bordeaux who visited Holy Cross Catholic School in Alcona. Children read to him one-to-one as part of a therapy-dog reading program.
It is a fitting counterpoint to the breed’s imposing appearance: steadiness, trust and the ability to make a quiet connection.
